Slow Second Hard Drive

Hi G4 Listers!

I recently installed a new 120GB-7200rpm Maxtor hard
drive and it works very well. However my older IBM
20GB-5400rpm drive has become very slow. Much slower
than it should be. For it to function, I must often
wait 20 to 30 seconds for the little colored ball to
stop rotating before anything happens.

I have used Disk Doctor 2 and Disk Warrior 3 and still
no difference in preformance.

I am at a loss to explain what is happening.

Any suggestions?
