i think the test site he is using is fine. he is just experiencing the broadband phenomenon of having a faster connection than does the server he is connected to. for instance: this download comes to me at 88 KBps: http://planetmirror.com/pub/macgamefiles/aspyr/indiana-jones-demo.dmg but this one (from apple) comes to me at 185 KBps: http://wsidecar.apple.com/cgi-bin/nph-reg3rdpty1.pl/ product=03350&platform=osx&method=sa/Java141Update1.dmg the problem isnt my DSL, but rather the maximum output capacity of the server i am downloading from. on 56k modem, the bottleneck is most assuredly yourself (7 KBps maximum -56 Kbps) but when broadband comes online, al of a sudden you have a downstream (1.5 Mbps +) faster than many servers upstreams. sandor > > Oh and find a better test site. > Jim >
