Just got a new internal 120gb drive, and I want to copy the files from the old hard drive to the new one without having to reinstall the OS and thus losing all my preferences. I have a G4/466 with 1.5gb of Ram and run 10.2.6. I have the new drive installed on top of the old one in the slave setting, and have it all formatted and ready to go. So I started up with my second partition so I could copy the main system partition over, and it tells me there are Library items that can't be read, and there are System items that need permissions to copy, continue anyway? (Actually two separate messages). So I say go ahead and when I try to startup with that partition, it hangs on the grey apple screen and doesn't do anything! How can I transfer my files to the new drive? Anyone know? Thanks!
