It's like insurance, you never need it until you need it. With all my Macs (7) in all these years, I never paid for it. It's a lot of money for 2 extra years. The first is free with the purchase. And if it isn't broke by then, it will not break the next years. All my firewire problems I had, I had them the first year shortly after the purchase. I don't have anything for 4 Macs.
