Just for the record...I also have an 8500 that has gone crazy since I updated the firmware with the latest version. I finally gave up and trashed my Panther 10.3 disk . The machine still boots to my 10.2.8 backup without issue. I am planning to reinstall 10.3 tomorrow. I have reset the firmware to the 126 version and will install only the 4.2.5 version of ATI Displays. This seemed to be a working config. The problems started with failure to wake the card after sleep (no display). A PRAM reset buried the system - no video on restart on the 10.3 disk. More later if you like. jim On 9 Nov 2004, at 16:34, Kevin Willis wrote: > I bought a used Radeon 8500 card off e-Bay a few weeks ago. It was > listed as a Mac edition.
