I get it, too. It does indeed take a bit longer than before, or so it seems. My "take" in the matter was that it was finding copies of the applications on other mounted hard drives (because I am a pack rat and never throw away smaller-capacity drives that I replace, but put them in external cases instead, I can have as many as four copies of an application that are discoverable).
