Hi Tony, Fonts are in a suitcase in your System folderYou can drag the incorrect/older fonts out of the suitcase and then let your installer complete their installation. Old fonts can be placed in another folder somewhere, should you ever need those versions. Sounds like those fonts would only be used when QuickDraw GX is operating. If other apps also rely on Quickdraw you may have variant fonts being employed, which may make no difference or a lot to the appearance of typography. To reconcile conflicts you may need to have folders of the fonts in question and swap them in and out of the Font suitcase when using different programs. No idea what happens if the new fonts aren't installed. But give it a try and let your installer complete its sequence. Any issues are likely easily reversible by uninstalling or searching for the new files and deleting them. Installing the CD that accompanies "Sams Teach Yourself To Create Web Pages in 24 Hours" (and includes Netscape Composer and other relevant software) I get the message "The installed substitution fonts are designed for use with standard QuickDraw. Please remove them and install the QuickDraw GX versions." (1) How do I remove them? (2) How do I find the QuickDraw GX versions? (3) How do I Install them? (4) Will this affect any existing applications? (5) If so, can I reconcile both needs? (6) What happens if I do nothing? The problem is in the classic environment. The only applications I have there that might be relevant are: Netscape, QuarkXPress 4, MacFractint, Graphing Calculator, Painter 5, Poser 2, Abyss Web Server, SoundEdit 16 version 2, WCC Silver, Photoshop 6, Toast Titanium 5.1.4, SimpleText, Illustrator 8, Image Ready 3, Streamline 4, Appleworks 6, ATM Deluxe. The computer is eMac 1GHz G4, 1GB SDRAM, Mac OS 10.3.7. I have a partitioned drive running 10 and 9.2 Applications are the same in classic and "over the other side" in full boot 9.2 The only program I don't have an updated version of in 10 is Quark which is my main reason for keeping 9. Oh and discovering when learning to expand website design beyond templates that the accompanying CD is only for OS 9. Thank you in advance for any help, Tony. -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .
