I just installed the security update - no gliches, but I'm not seeing a speed difference. OTOH, I'm running Tiger 4.7 on a Dual 867 MDD, so it's bound to respond differently. Plus, I've only had this machine for a few weeks, so I'm not well attuned to its perfomance quirks yet. One thing I did notice after the first restart was that the boot didn't reset the default browser back to Safari against my wishes (that's a Tiger thing - they seem to have decided recently that we mere users have no business choosing for ourselves which browser to set as our default), so I was happy at first. But after the second restart, it was back to its old trick, so I'll still have to reset back to Firefox after each boot. Feh. I can live without Dashboard calling the Mother Ship every day, too, but I've already put a muzzle on that little bit of Microsoftism. There's a third party System Preferences plugin -- "DashPrefs" I think -- that helps keep Dashboard on a short leash. Otherwise, I don't have much to say about Tiger, except that it seems to work okay so far. :-/ --- Richard Ramsowr <r.ramsowr at sbcglobal.net> wrote: > John > > I found my clock after a second restart.
