Well, I've had my Mac Pro since the 6th and I got the 2.66 gig with 2 gig RAM and dual DVD burners. It replaced a dual 2 gig G5 with 4 gig RAM. This thing runs rings around the old G5. It's screaming fast. I actually thought that the difference in RAM would make a difference but that is not the case. One game that I love to play is "The Sims 2" and it's expansion packs. On the G5, if I built a house a little too big or had too many people living there, it would slow down and scrolling would be 'jerky'. After applying the Universal Binary update to it, you wouldn't believe how much faster and smoother it runs. Though the majority of my running Apps are Universal, I did opt to keep Word and Excel (from office 2004) and they actually run faster via rosetta than they did natively on the G5. I am expecting an additional gig of RAM today, but I don't know that it's really necessary (of course I'll put it in though). Verdict: The Mac Pro is a HUGE advance in the ease and power of the Mac. I even like the mighty mouse--I didn't think I would. This is about the best investment that I've ever made. Get a Mac Pro! Tim -- Tim Collier
