[G4] Computer to Computer Video Chat

Hello List:
Is this the right format to get suggestions for Hardware
suggestions and info to see and chat with a Party out of State.
I had heard of Skype, however to prepare, what do I need.
My System is a Powermac G4 1.25 Dual MDD 800.
SY OS 10.4. I'm on limited funds and need to be successful
on start-up. My DSL speed is 768Kbps.
All of the Stores in this area only care PC Items.
Would it be beneficial to upgrade to USB 2.0?
