I wish to thank you for advice I spent all day checking drivers and the monitor driver was not installed, through applejack I found that startup had been affected by deleted files or drivers on the SATA drive, I was able to fix the 'Grey Pixelitus' with an updated monitor installment and reinstalled OSX and upgrades on the SATA but saving the Docs and stuff, thanks heaps
