I have attempted to use the Sonnet Tempo SATA controller card along with the ATA drive. The Sonnet card causes a great deal of trouble and is being removed from my system. It's just too dysfunctional for this G4 of mine and is going up for sale. I never attempted to split my directories the two drives I will continue to attempt my efforts when I find another controller card which works correctly.
