I'm using the Logitech Mx700 mouse too - I've only been using it a week 
or two, but I've had no problems.

Mine is connected to the hub in my monitor.

I also suspect you may have a hub problem - some USB devices require 
more power than that provided through a hub. You may need to plug it 
directly into the computer.
