[HM] Freezes & glitches

I have the same problem, except that in time it deteriorated first to a 
pattern
whereby the problem recurred more and more frequently, and now it
will start up always with a cursor/mouse frozen in place in the upper
left corner AND completely disfunctional Keyboard.  Happens even when
starting from the Apple Panther Installation CD.

Also, at startup, sometimes does, sometimes does not recognize keys, 
like
C for CD, T for Target, Shift for "Safe", or the ZAP Parameters combo.

Hardware checked OK, no peripherals  connected, maintenance routines 
done,
Disk repair via Target mode "No Repairs" etc. etc. Tried "everything" 
doable.

G4 1.42 Dual Mirror drive, Panther v10.3.2.
