Erratic cursor

I am running 9.2.2/10.2 on an iMac that boots into both systems. Right now I
am using 9.2.2.

My cursor seems to take on a mind of its own. Sometimes it just goes to the
upper right corner of the screen. at times, it gets stuck (like when I am
playing Snood) and it won't move unless I quit the application.

Anyone have a clue for this bad behavior???????????

By the way, what should Energy Saver be set to? sometimes this iMac doesn't
want to wake up!
