[HM] Application to record audio tracks that doesn't need a fast disk?!!

I tried to run Cubase on my Powerbook G3 with OS9.2,
but apparently it won't run properly on it because it
needs a faster disk with 7200 RPMs, and this one is
slower than that!. So, I was wondering if anyone knows
of any other software that I could use to record audio
tracks on WAVE format, and that will run on this
powerbook, either on OS9.2 or OSX (I can always
upgrade the OS on the powerbook). That way I can make
the recordings on the PB and then transfer the WAVE
files to my desktop G4 and edit it there using Cubase.
