strange problem imovie 3

I just had a strange problem.  Had finished 3 minute slide show with 
background music it played fine.  Made an iDVD project along with other 
movies.  Watched the preview and the 3rd and 4th slide were missing in 
the movie.  Went back to iMovie and they showed up in the time line.  
So I played the movie and it too skipped these slides but the  red 
indicator showed the play-head to be in these slides but the viewer was 
showing two clips forward from this position.  At the end the screen 
was black and the sound continued for the duration of the missing 
clips.  After moving the offending slides to the shelf and then saving 
the movie putting them back in the timeline saving again and all was 
right again.  I went back to iDVD and these changes were reflected in 
the preview without any further intervention on my part ( I guess this 
is part of the new integration).  Not a big deal but it had me puzzled 
(frustrated) for 30 - 45 minutes.
