Which compressor to use in FCP 2

Hello,

I heard that when FCP3 came out and they marketed smaller file size options
that actually if you change the compressor in FCP you can make same smaller
file sizes compared to in the regular DV NTSC, I think it may have been
motion JPEG or photo JPEG, I am not sure. If anyone knows please let me
know. Also if it is Motion JPEG is it A or B??
