Canon and FW drives

Okay, here's the quote I was referring to with the canon cameras:
"Can't import or export to FireWire disks with Canon camcorders
If you are using a Canon DV camcorder, you will not be able to import or export directly to a FireWire disk. Instead, import or export to your internal disk and copy to the FireWire disk later. "

Does anyone know if this is still an issue with Canons as new as the ZR60?  It just may be a problem if you have a slow or full internal drive.
