imovie 3 and VCD

I had exactly the same problem with that "expired" message the first 
time I tried to make a VCD on 1/1/2003.

You probably did the same thing I did last year, and downloaded the 
Toast updater when its announcement first hit the news sites. It 
turns out that that updater wasn't actually ready for release -- I 
think someone discovered it on the Roxio site and put out the word 
prematurely. Roxio later put the final updater on their site, but 
apparently didn't bother to change the version number.

I fixed my problem by re-downloading the updater, reinstalling Toast 
5 (in Classic), and then running the updater again. I was then able 
to create a VCD, and never saw that message again.
