I've also been looking for a good archiving procedure, but my interest 
stemmed from my negative experience with tape storage. I'm still using 
a Sony Digital 8 camcorder. Out of the first ten Hi8 cassettes I 
bought, two have already suffered a mechanical failure. All these tapes 
are less than three years old and had been played less than ten times 
each. Is the MiniDV cassette more reliable?
