There is no current wide screen solution for DVD. That is to come in the future. There are only 16x9 "optimized" discs, which are NOT HD. However, to wow people with the Panasonic PT-50PHD4-P is very easy to do in Final Cut Pro. You CAN purchase an HD recorder player (D-VHS), including the Panasonic PV-HD1000, JVC HM-DH30000, and Mitsubishi HS-HD1100U or HS-HD2000U, which will feed the Panasonic PT-50PHD4-P correctly, and you CAN easily master the material needed in Final Cut Pro, PROVIDED you purchase a Kona ( http://www.aja.com/ ), Digital Voodo ( http://www.digitalvoodoo.net/ ), or other HD i/o card for your Mac. The cards will set you back several thousands of dollars (US) however. There will likely be a need to transcode the output video to the HD VHS machine as well, which likely means another box. The OTHER way to tackle it is to use the Panasonic PT-50PHD4-P as a computer monitor, and playback the high def material in that fashion. Richard Brown
