Isn't there a warranty issue here? It seems to me that a while back I
inquired about one of their units. The drive itself had a three-year
warranty, while the unit they sold had a shorter warranty (one year? two
years?). They said the drive manufacturer's warranty would not apply.

That being the case (no pun intended), might it not be wiser to buy the
drive and the case separately?
