You could try Quicktime Pro. It can run AVI's and it can export to that format too. You could use cut and paste to create separate files of the right size. It might take some experimentation to determine how many minutes will fill a CD without going over. -Dave Original message: ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 24 Jun 2003 20:53:47 -0400 Subject: [MacDV] .AVI editing, trimming From: Erik Gilchrist Message-Id: <7A6E1374-A6A7-11D7-B2B5-000393AC7460 at metagrafix.com> Subject: .AVI editing, trimming I have quite a few .AVI files that I need to trim to fit onto CD (700 MB). I have access to the popular hi end video editors but not much skill in that arena and still have not found a way beyond using software like Discreet's Cleaner on PC to Edit/Trim the .AVI files. The Mac version does not seem to be able to import .AVI files like the PC counterpart. Anyone know of any apps (retail, share/freeware) that I can use on OS X to trim my larger .AVI FIles down? What I do is use Stuffit and Segment them and then burn to CD in pieces (or .DMG them) for archive but I would like to get them trimmed to <700mb for straight one-shot CD archival. Thanks and please note I am on DIGEST mode and would love to be CC'ed or contacted offline if not appropriate for this list. I really appreciate it.
