That's what they said when the PowerMac G4 came out... But there is validity to their claim. You can't just shove a desktop chip into a laptop and expect it to run. They have to engineer a chip version that consumes less power and runs cooler. That ain't happenin' overnight. And Rick's gotta point, there are still bux to be made with the PBG4...so although desktop G4s will probably drop in price after G5's entrance to the market, I don't expect PBG4s to lose much off their sticker price anytime soon. > Maybe true, but that's what I might say if I wanted to continue selling > current models.
