As is always the case. Benchmarks are always manipulated in some way or another. Even if a company does its best to be fair, there are going to be people who say it isn't fair because of this, that or the other thing. They'll toss out terms like "cheaters" and "liars" without bothering to actually find out why they did things the way they did. So if you want to find out if a Formula 1 race car, your basic sedan or an SUV is faster, do you race them on a paved road or do you race them cross-country? The answer depends on what kind of driving each individual does, how much tweaking they can or want to do to maximize performance, and what kind of experience they want while driving. -Mike
