I spoke with one of their 800 toll free sales persons this morning and I did not get the impression this is a rip off. He said they have sold dual 1.25 GHz Macs for as little as $1200 since December. What makes you so sure this is a pure rip off Chas. Do you know someone who has been ripped off by these guys? I don't know of any horror stories coming out yet. Do you? I asked him if Apple had a problem with them doing this and he said Apple had no problem with them. k On Thursday, March 13, 2003, at 12:36 PM, Charles Martin wrote: >> From: Thubten Kunga <Kunga at FutureMedia.org> >> >> <http://www.applepurchaseprogram.com> and 800.310.2256 >> >> Anybody notice this program that claims to be able to sell us new dual >> 1.25 GHz Macs for $989? >> >> New Full Page ad is in the April MacAddict (p.69) Magazine. >> >> Must put up a $250 non-refundable deposit toward the purchase price to >> be included in the deal. > > Everyone be forewarned that this offer is a COMPLETE RIP OFF. > > You will likely get a machine, but it will be at FULL PRICE *plus* tax > *plus* the $250 deposit.
