It's a pyramid scheme -- basically the last people to pay before they get shut down don't get a thing, and are out the deposit. Everybody else up to that point probably *does* get the machine at the reduced price using the deposits of others to help pay the difference. Still, it's not something I would ever do or encourage others to do...
