DVD Authouring on a Blue and White G3

Hello,

I have posed the question on 2-pop. There seems to be many views on 
this. One person stated I'd be wasting my time as it would be somewhat 
difficult to get the Pioneer DVD-R drive to work. He said there has 
been some problems adapting these drives in the B/W models. What do you 
people say? Some others have said it has successfully been done with a 
G4 upgrade and installing any of the following 103,104 or 105 Pioneer 
DVD-R drives. Any advice or tips?
