I have used Silverlining for years to use disks that would not mount or 
be recognized by the OS.
It has worked fine. But only  use it if your disk doesn't show up. 
Shouldn't need it with ATA.
Same for Norton. I use speed disk, but never disk doctor.
Takes a while to figger these things out.
