Macs like AIFF (big-endian) and PeeCees like WAV (little endian). Audio on CDs is *neither* -- it's CD Digital Audio -- and it's converted to either format during the "ripping" process. But no matter if it's AIFF or WAV, 16 bit, 44.1 kHz audio will give you the best quality you can get to/from a CD audio track. 2 cents. - Mark
