SuperDrive Firmware update will not run

Hey,

I e-mailed a friend of mine about getting my SuperDrive updated and said a 
firmware update would probably fix the problem I downloaded it but only runs 
on a G4. What should I do?

Should I buy the G4 ZIFF upgrade so I can run the update or get a brand new 
system?
