Cleaning tapes are OK if used in moderation since they are an abrasive
version of the tape. If you want to hand clean the deck you can but be very
careful, if you contact the ruby rod in the middle of the deck you can very
easly slice your hand open. The rod is used to scrape junk off of the tape,
almost all digital formats use a ruby scraper.
