I just wanted to add one option. Many digital video cameras will also 
do this. Just make sure to get one that will allow you to digitize the 
analog video and send it out the Firewire port without having to copy 
it to tape first. The other side of that though is some people like to 
digitize to tape first to have a good digital backup or archive.

This is definitely a more expensive route, but if you're considering a 
digital video camera in the near future you may want to save the money 
you would otherwise spend on a stand-alone converter.
