[MacDV] FCP HD/iDVD 5.0.1

I am using iDVD 5 to burn movies I compile in FCP HD.   My footage is  
not HD as it originates from a 5 year old,  3 CCD Canon XM1 video  
camera.

Could someone advise me which is the best path to take to save the  
best quality product from FCP to iDVD please?  To date I have not  
used "Compressor", as I find the instructions in the Manual a little  
ambiguous.

  I am in Adelaide and using the PAL system.
