My uncle's been in the commercial industry for over 20yrs and I've allways been told to never switch brands of tape for fear that the different lubes the tapes use may mix and run afoul, causing things to stick and such... They caused problems on two different occasions (two different batches of tapes) and I haven't used them since. That was a couple years ago. I have used various tapes, Sony, Panasonic, TDK and Maxell. However, I tend to only use one brand for at least two or three dozen tapes and then I may switch.
