What kind of broadband is available .25 miles down your drive?

Can you dig a trench with a rented DitchWitch, lay in some conduit or 
PVC pipe (whatever's legal in your region) an then backfill, pulling 
cable and adding any necessary boosters/amps, repeaters, etc, as you 
go?

Might cost a few hundred for equipment rental and conduit... can't say 
about the electronic part.
