The encoding from DV to MPEG2 is what takes the most time. A full 1:45 minute DVD might take as long as 8 hours to encode, depending on the processor in your computer, the RAM. The burning speed is based almost entirely on the speed of your burner. If you have a 4x burner, it will take approximately 15-20 minutes to burn your disc.
