Using FCE 4 on my MacBook Pro with no problems. Running a 2.2 GHz model and have it maxed out with 4 GB of ram so FCE 4 smokes along. The earlier FCE versions require AGP graphic card so won't run on the MacBook. FCE 4 handles all popular video formats DV, HDV, and the new AVCH providing you are running it on an Intel machine.
