VV - US v UK version

I have used VV in the past - the US version.  I am about to try it 
again, but as we in New Zealand use UK English not US English, I 
would prefer to use the UK version.

Is there any significant difference between the two versions?  If the 
US version is significantly better, I may have to use that - and put 
up with the funny spelling!

Advice will be appreciated.
