[MV] Dragon Dictate - Microphone seems WAY too sensitive - random words everywhere

Did you try moving the microphone a bit further from your mouth? It should be off to the side (not directly in front of your mouth) and at least 2 finger-width's away from your face. If that's not where you have had it, try that. If it is where you have had it, try moving it a bit further away.

Also, double-check your settings in the Sound System Preference and Speech System Preference. Make sure the input for both are set to your headset, not the internal mic or some other source. Mac OS X has been known to override sound input with its own settings on occasion, so if you make sure they are the same, you avoid that potential problem.

If that doesn't help, try another microphone.
