[MV] MacSpeech Dictate

Dear friends,
I bought MacSpeech Dictate Ver. 1.5.9.  It stopped working.  When I try to get the mike, it goes up immediately to 99% and obviously no longer hears me.  I got disgusted and stopped trying to fix it.  Now I'd like to try again.  I'm running OS 10.6.6.  How shall I start?
