That's funny, this works in everything from NC 4.8 for Mac to NC 7 for 
PC quite a range. I've never had a counter do this before.

Well considering that the  counter comes right from the server and is 
only customizable from therein, and has no trouble in any other 
browser, I'd say Safari is the one at fault....
