PB G4 Will not Start - HELP

I have a colleague with a 15" PB G4 running 10.6.  Today it would not 
restart at all.  The wheel just spins and it will not start up.  He 
tried booting it from the original OS X CD and it also would not read 
the CD.  He tried the zap the PRAM approach but that did not help. 
Any thoughts on how to get him going would be helpful.  He uses it to 
teach his classes and must have it going by Tuesday.
