I have a 12" AL Powerbook/867/640mb/40g/Superdrive. After installing 10.3.2 and restarting, I noticed a perceptible drop in performance. I checked the cpu frequency using Terminal and typing in "sysctl hw.cpufrequency" and it returned 56666666. I checked out my settings in the Energy Saver control panel in System prefs and set everything to highest performance, even in Battery mode and restarted. Still showed the lower mhz setting. I shut down completely and performed a PMU reset, then started up. The mhz had returned to 86666666, or normal for this machine. Every time I have to restart, say, after an install that requires it, I have to shutdown and perform the PMU reset to return to the correct mhz. I have done a "archive and install" re-installation to no avail. I have run TT 4, Disk Warrior and Apple's Hardware test disk, nothing helps or indicates a problem. Anybody here have this problem? I have read some on Apple's boards are experiencing it, but in most reports it seems to be intermittent . I am almost ready to call Apple as my machine is still in its first year of warranty. I think it is a software problem, but cannot locate the software that would be resetting the cpu on restart. I suppose it could be a logic board problem, what do you think? I don't need a bunch of advice on whether I should call Apple or send it back, I know those are options, I just want to hold on to my PB if I can. Thanks, Bill Horn hi woz
