Isn't the key to the problem here that Selwyn i using OS 10.1.5. In the 
earlier versions Of OSX we occationally had a situation where the trash 
couldn't be emptied unless doing some mumbo-jumbo in Terminal or was it 
that some folders could'nt even be moved to trash?

Sorry if I'm confussing the subject more than helping. :-)
