clicking noise

A while back I had posted to the list asking about hard disk clicking, 
which is what I think was making the noise on my computer.  Well I used 
Disk Warrior and it didn't find any errors, but found many permission 
errors that I fixed.  Would that cause my HD to hang and lock up my 
system?
