How sweet it is! I can type normally again. Perhaps one of our cracks can explain the nitty gritty. Here's the story: I had installed an APC PowerChute battery back-up. Then it dawned on me that a PowerBook has its own battery! So I disconnected it. But each time I would restart, I'd get a dialogue box telling me that I needed to connect the UPS. Now that I have scoured my Prefs and PrefPanes (Library), I'm back to normal keyboard response. I also trashed Macaroni prefs as I tried it and decided I did not need it. Does this make a case for Uninstallers to be included with software installers? I'd love to hear the background to this scenario, and perhaps warnings against arbitrarily trashing prefs, as I did, On Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at 06:41 PM, Murray Kastner wrote: > > On Wednesday, July 9, 2003, at 06:28 PM, Sam Hotchkiss wrote: > >> On 7/9/03 11:04 AM, "Murray Kastner" <murrayka at mac.com> wrote: >> >>> On my new 17" Big Al I am experiencing a keyboard slowdown that >>> almost >>> prevents me from writing.
