That depends.

What do you mean by checking the memory? Do you want to know the amount 
of unused memory available to programs? Or do you want to know which 
bits you can trust on the RAM module?

Which cache do you want to check? L1, L2, L3? What do you mean by 
deleting the cache? Do you perhaps mean purging its contents? Or do you 
want to remove it from your system?

Unfortunately I can't help you with any of those questions, but you can 
help yourself by giving us a bit more information. Oh, and do not 
forget those pieces of info that are so ubiquitously that you might 
just forget about them: Your specific type of computer (e.g. which 
tiBook or alBook we're dealing with) and your OS, including the version 
number.

You know,  you might even try to google it...  (although I had no such 
luck :-( )
