Has anyone tried any of these Unix utilities and got it to work. I am interested in simple folder synchronization as a first step and backing up a bootable system to a firewire drive as a second option. I found a tool called unison, but it requires quite a lot of compiling and downloading and I am reluctant to spend half a day playing and then failing to get it to work. In addition, unison does not handle resource forks. This is my first MAC and the concept of the resource fork escapes me, but I wonder if any of the UNIX tools would properly handle these files. Or what would happen if they would get lost? Lots of questions. Thanks. Philipp
